Assists in coordination with the MDI and Souto Foods Executive Staff, the long term vision, strategies and annual business plans for the growth and expansion of the Hispanic brand portfolio and all Multicultural Sales and Programming. Through fostering relationships in retail stores and ensuring proper training of the multicultural sales team, ensures the achievement of sales, gross profit, net income, employee cultural alignment, and customer expectation goals. Provides leadership to ensure positive collaboration among Alex Lee Companies, the communities we serve and our vendor community.
Accountable for the sales and profit goals to support the business strategies and growth projections for the Hispanic and multicultural brand portfolio expansion.
Implements the development and execution of programs that drive multicultural sales through qualified retail channels to achieve profitable results and to maximize return on investment.
Analyzes sales initiatives and programs for MDI and Souto Foods existing Hispanic brand portfolio relative to established objectives and ensures that appropriate actions are taken.
Creates a sales driven, customer centric, community oriented culture that is aligned with the MDI and Souto Foods growth strategies.
Train and manage the multicultural products sales team.
Develops high potential people with diverse capabilities; establishes goals, accurately appraises, provides constructive feedback and develops successors. Develops in coordination with Human Resources reward systems that encourages peak performance and retention.
Consistently review product variety in MDI and Souto Foods brand portfolios to find the most efficient location for particular products/ Driving costs out of the system and improving variety to our customers.
Leads innovative solutions to industry and competitive challenges while bringing synergies between MDI and Souto Foods multicultural portfolio.
In coordination with transportation, develops a plan to deliver multicultural production in the most efficient way possible through correct placement of multicultural products, most efficient delivery model and cross dock opportunities.
Prepare a program that can land major chain multicultural marketing (i.e. Food Lion, Kroger, Walmart, Target) to grow sales.
Invest in secondary DCs to expand physical presence beyond Southeast/Mid-Atlantic region.
Work with multicultural product category managers to create planograms, merchandising planners and store format programs that can be used to create stronger multicultureal product programs in stores.
Collaborates in the development of a comphrehensive multicultural brand consulting services and product distribution strategy.
The incumbent should possess the skills and knowledge generally associated with a Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred. 10 - 15 years progressive experience in retail supermarket operations. Has a thorough understanding of retail sales, merchandising, finance, I.T, H.R. and retail supermarket operations. Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, communication and negotiation skills are critical. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.
