Overview

  • To provide administrative support as needed and directed by the Category Sales Manager(s).

Responsibilities

 

Accountabilities:
  • Input critical data into the buying system as required; includes new items, price changes, promotional deals, and ad projections.
  • Support 700+ customers, vendors, brokers, and co-workers as needed.
  • Answer customer telephone calls, emails, and faxes in a proper manner. Answer questions, take messages, and handle requests. Ensure phones are always covered.
  • Enter data into the system as required.
  • Support two or more Category Sales Managers.
  • Compile reports and email correspondence. Communicate with vendors and customers as needed.
  • Update customer information in MDI InTouch, including weekly news, ads, new items, eShows, and product recalls.
  • Responsible for processing credits, handbills, purchase orders, deal information, billbacks, related paperwork, faxing, and phoning when necessary. Facilitate Food Show by creating and maintaining flyers and vendor information.
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date filing systems for vendor information.
  • Utilize Excel, OnDemand, Biceps, HDInsight, mainframe, etc. to compile reports. Email correspondence and communicate with vendors and customers as needed.
  • Provide daily backup and support to others in the Marketing Department.
  • Perform other tasks as necessary and requested.

Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications:
 
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Excel and Word.
  • Excellent data entry and communication skills.

Ability to work with little supervision, anticipate situations before they arise, and develop solutions. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to meet deadlines and handle pressure.

  • Strengths in multi-tasking and good organizational skills. Able to work for more than one person at a time. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a changing and challenging environment.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Able to handle confidential information.
