Overview

Major Functions:

The RAS Sales Specialist provides technical support and expertise for all sales activities within MDI, assisting in both new business acquisition and ongoing customer engagement. This role is critical in managing the sales process, overseeing installation and training, and delivering outstanding support to retail clients.

 

**Must be located in or willing to relocate to: West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio or Maryland**

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Engagement: Identifying potential customers, assessing their requirements, and proposing appropriate solutions.
  2. Product Demonstration: Presenting product features and benefits to customers in a clear and informative manner.
  3. Support the management of CRM systems and sales lead pipelines, delivering weekly updates to track progress, identify opportunities, and support strategic sales initiatives
  4. Project Development: Participate in the creation of new RAS products and services for retail clients.
  5. Technical Conversions: Oversee scan file conversions, coordinate with POS vendors, support electronic payments transitions, and deliver on-site assistance during new business conversion.
  6. Consulting: Offer expert advice to retail clients solving complex, technical business challenges.
  7. Leadership & Teamwork: Demonstrate proactive leadership and foster collaboration within the sales and service team
  8. Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends and communicate insights into product development teams.
  9. Professional Development: Take ownership of personal growth, suggest relevant training, and encourage ongoing development for colleagues.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or computer science (preferred).
  • Experience in retail grocery operations or relevant applications.
  • Store management experience with P&L responsibility is desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; organizational and programming skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.

 

Dimensions:

  • Travel required 2–4 nights per week, occasionally including Sundays. Office work primarily on Mondays and Fridays as projects demand.
  • Work is deadline-driven and may sometimes require extra hours beyond the regular workday.
  • High attention to detail is necessary, as errors may cause delays, added costs, or disruptions.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and provide consultation on various projects.
  • Functions with minimal supervision, independently planning itineraries at least a week in advance.
  • Consistently organizes weekly workload, delivers timely updates, and contributes to sales forecasting.

 

Direction:

  • Works with general guidance from the RAS Sales Manager and Implementation Manager, primarily on moderately complex projects.
  • Expected to report challenges and solutions as needed and independently manage large-scale projects.
