Overview

Major Functions: 

 

Provides data analytics, develops insights, and manages reporting functions for the Private Brand, Procurement, and Fresh Merchandising teams, as well as their leadership. This position is essential for integrating data from various systems, creating dashboards and visualizations to assist with business management, and generating insights that will guide strategic development.

Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Regularly track and report on procurement key performance indicators, including spend analytics, efficiency, supplier performance, and the overall value delivered by procurement.
  • Regularly generate reports on Merchandising KPIs, including category analytics, promotional performance, CPI tracking, item productivity, and merchandising value.
  • Provide targeted monitoring of merchandising strategies before and after activation. Assess and utilize measures such as elasticity, customer loyalty, switching behavior, void reporting, private brand penetration, and market share based on both dollar value and unit sales.
  • Create and maintain a Supplier Scorecard including external facing reports to our supplier community to maintain performance accountability with our suppliers.
  • Efficiently identify and integrate diverse or emerging data sources to enhance our understanding of the business and to monitor the performance of key initiatives.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc reporting requests addressing specific business questions.
  • Ensure high accuracy reports that can be reliably used to inform strategy
  • Demonstrates proficiency in integrating both quantitative and qualitative data sources to present a comprehensive perspective on a reporting subject.
  • Skilled in utilizing macro datasets, such as those from IRI/Circana and AppCentral, to proficiently analyze extensive data sources and extract actionable insights efficiently.
  • Utilize emerging tools and technologies, including AI, to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the insights reporting function.
  • Collaborates with teams in Marketing, Center Store Merchandising, and Warehouse Operations to promote best practices, standardized methodologies, and optimal utilization of available data resources.
  • Demonstrates strong responsiveness by coordinating timeline expectations among multiple customers, ensuring reliable and reasonable turnaround times.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of core business functions and our value propositions across teams to effectively inform the creation of reporting and insights.
  • Maintain data hygiene by ensuring high integrity data inputs, identification of data quality concerns and support mitigation efforts to improve data quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or related field 
  • 3+ years’ experience in finance, merchandising, or marketing analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in collecting and integrating diverse data sources to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Suite especially Excel and Power BI
  • Familiarity with SQL or other relevant database structures
  • Experience working with syndicated data
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including writing, speaking and active listening
