Overview

Inspecting product and maintaining regulatory compliance with all FSMA regs and SQF in the perishable dept.

 

Schedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 2am to 12:30pm

Responsibilities

Informs the buying department of any outdated, and/or damaged perishable items so that proper disposition can be made and/or credit obtained.
• Inspect inbound loads to ensue that FDA and MDI standards are met. When standards are not met, communications must be made with the buyers and a federal inspector must be called in to inspect the load.
• Check the product in the coolers daily to ensure proper rotation and quality.
• Assist the receiver when needed.
• Must be able to pass lift operator’s qualification course.
• Communicates with the buyers to ensure that all orders which need to be received into inventory are received.
• Must be able to perform as a receiver.
• Ability to use Triceps and Mainframe Inventory systems.
• Monitor temperatures, humidity, and ethylene in storage areas (produce only).
• Maintain proper storage in temperature zones in item.
• Supervises operation to comply with all applicable FSMA regulation, as well as Company Food Safety Plan, olicies, procedures, and standards.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of receiving, triceps, and mainframe preferred
  • Working knowledge of USDA produce standards
  • Experience with produce inspections preferred
  • Above average problem-solving skill and ability to multi-task
  • Positive attitude and team player with quality as a top priority
  • May be required to work flexible hours/rotating weekends
  • Retail produce experience preferred

Direction: Reports directly to the Director of Produce Operations
