Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

1)      Systems Knowledge:  Obtain and retain knowledge of all distribution technologies in order to anticipate, communicate and relay issues, problems, and opportunities to the appropriate parties.   You are the subject matter expert on all device operations in the distribution centers.

2)     Systems Implementation and Upgrades:  Lead the implementation of any new devices for distribution center operations.  Ensure all functionality is fully tested and training and training documentation is completed.  Support the software engineering and solutions analysts in software implementations and upgrades.

3)     Training:  Collaborate with instructional design department to ensure that all user documentation is accurate and current.  Conduct all appropriate training sessions – leverage effective materials and communication.

4)     Process optimization:  Leverage your direct (physical) access to the use of all devices and technologies to observe processes and recommend ways to optimize / gain efficiency in the use of the technologies.

5)     Maintenance:  Coordinate maintenance and repair of devices / equipment.  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of repair options including 3^rd party contracts.   Understand 3^rd party agreements and maintain a log of 3^rd parties and of SLA compliance.  

6)     Cost effectiveness:   Maintain knowledge of the cost of the devices and technologies that you support.  Use that knowledge to make recommendations on replacements, upgrades, and alternatives that deliver a lower cost of operations but maintain the business operations requirements.   Analyze all available reporting and statistics to proactively reduce cost.

7)     Asset Protection:  Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure proper processes for ensuring that devices and technologies are tracked and an accurate inventory is maintained.  You are responsible for ensuring that business operations are never impacted by the lack of available assets.

8)     Infrastructure Assistance:   On occasion, you may be called upon to serve as the eyes and hands of the Alex Lee IT infrastructure team, due to your direct access to the distribution center.    Under the specific direction of the infrastructure resource, you may be asked to replace a device, reset a device, or assist in troubleshooting.
